About Moviesandbox

Moviesandbox is an Open-Source graphical filmmaking tool in progress, formerly developed for the Unreal Tournament engine and now based on C++ and OpenGL.

It allows you to easily create your own characters, sets and poses and direct them in the way you imagine. It is also an open project, which means that all the code and tools are free and open for people to change or add to, and, where possible, licensed under the lesser GPL. Development started in early 2006.

a bit of documentation

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

The puppet show is over and all went down quite nicely. In the coming weeks, i'll be tidying up all the files and produce some proper documentation for it. In the meantime, you can check out a short youtube video from the event showing a bit of the last part of the performance (thanks to Christine Elmer and the TMA Hellerau for the documentation!).
I learned a lot from this and it's a great way to finish Moviesandbox (remember? We're moving towards V1400Beta!).
Thanks to everyone who came and to the TMA Hellerau and eyebeam for both of their support!
more to come...

ein kleines Puppenspiel in Dresden tomorrow

Friday, November 23, 2007

"Ein kleines Puppenspiel" (a little puppet show) will be performed live tomorrow at 8 pm in the Festspielhaus Hellerau as part of the CyNet-Art media art festival 2008. It's a small movie/puppet theater play that's driven by 2 puppeteers, a cameraman and a live-musician using 4 Gametraks, two Wiimotes and a specially designed MoCap-suit.
The complete source material will be made available for download as a free add-on for v1390Beta.
If you happen to be around let me know!
I'll post pictures and video of the play.
